Hemslojd, at the North end of Downtown, is one of the country's largest Scandinavian gift shops. Hemslojd (Hem-sloyd) is Swedish for "handicraft". A wood-worker or folk-painter is usually at work Monday through Saturday. Hemslojd offers on-site bus parking, public restrooms, outside covered gathering area with porch-swing with free workshop tour and presentation by arrangement.

The Red Barn Studio was the working studio of professional artist and craftsman Lester Raymer (1907-1991).
